BENTAYGA S
Overview
The Bentayga S takes the power and capability of the Bentayga and adds edgier, sportier performance and styling. With large 22” wheels and black styling details to add definition, it is a car that cannot be ignored. You can choose between two powertrains: a twin-turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 engine with a sports exhaust and Bentley’s enhanced Sport Mode, or a 3.0 litre V6 plug-in hybrid. Packed with cutting-edge digital technology, this is a car that is more than just a bold design statement. In short, it is every bit as thrilling as it looks.

Design
This is an SUV that has been designed from the outset to stand out. Instead of the elegant chrome detailing featured on the standard Bentayga, it features the Blackline Specification, Bentley’s package of exterior details that turns most of the bright chrome exterior trim black. Exclusive to the S model, the door mirrors, side sills and details of the front and rear bumpers are also painted black, with dark tint headlamps and tail lamps completing the look.
For even more road presence, the car features large, unique 22” wheels with a dramatic scythe design. Available in your choice of three finishes, they all look incredible with the red-painted brake callipers that are fitted as standard.
For even more drama, you can add the optional Animated Welcome Lamps by Mulliner. When you open the door, they project a shimmering, swirling light show onto the ground, to illuminate your path as you get in or get out.
When you enter the cabin itself, you will step over treadplates inscribed with the words, ‘Handcrafted in Crewe, England’, before you see the ‘Bentayga S’ embroidery and Alcantara details – part of a colour split unique to the S model. Even the instrument panel graphics have been redesigned to add sporting style.
Performance
The Bentayga S is available with either a twin-turbocharged, 4.0 litre V8 engine or a single-turbocharger 3.0 litre V6 plug-in hybrid. Choose the V8 and you can expect 542 bhp (550 PS) and 770 Nm of torque. In practical terms, that means acceleration from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds (100 km/h in 4.5 seconds), and a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h) – enough to make most sports car drivers green with envy.
There are four driving modes to choose from, including an enhanced Sport Mode on the V8 version, that pushes power and responsiveness to the limit. It even brings the best out of the Sports Exhaust, which allows the V8 engine to make its presence felt whenever you put your foot down. Stability in corners is dramatically enhanced by the addition of Bentley Dynamic Ride, an innovative electronic anti-roll system that works to keep the cabin level through corners, without compromising on ride quality at other times. The addition of all-wheel steering – again, on the V8 version only – enables you to manoeuvre with greater ease in tight spaces, while also benefiting from more stability as you change lanes at high speeds.
If you choose the hybrid powertrain, you will enjoy a combination of performance and low emissions that only a Bentley SUV could achieve: 0-60 mph acceleration in just 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 158 mph (254 km/h).
Technology
The Bentayga S includes a wealth of technology to ensure you can continue your digital life in your car. It includes Apple CarPlay* and Android Auto**, both wired or wireless, so you can integrate your phone easily. There is a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless phone charger for phones that support it – for others, there are two USB-C ports.
You can now download apps direct to the car’s infotainment system, from a pre-approved selection. This means that rather than running your preferred navigation app from your phone, for example, you can run it on the car’s system, where it can access useful vehicle data like fuel and range levels.
The car features a new air conditioning and purification system, which can filter out various pollutants including harmful PM2.5 particles. It can re-circulate the air in the cabin if the air outside is judged to be of a poorer quality and it can detect tunnels before you enter them, switching to re-circulation mode in readiness. It can even detect whether there is anyone sitting in the rear seats and manage the air flow accordingly.
For the driver, life is made much easier in tight spaces, thanks to a real-time, high-resolution 3D display of your complete surroundings, as well as Manoeuvre Assist, a feature that alerts you before you bump or scrape your bodywork against any obstacle. In a striking demonstration of Bentley's attention to detail, even the graphics on the display have been designed to reflect the car’s dynamic character.
One of the most useful features is the car’s ability to park itself. Not only can it identify a suitable space and perform the manoeuvre, controlling the steering, accelerator and brake, but it can even do so while you stand and watch – useful if the space looks so small that you might have trouble getting out.
The My Bentley app adds many more remote access features, like the ability to locate your car and alerts if the alarm goes off. It can even notify you if the car is moved without your consent. If you choose the hybrid, you will also be able to see where the nearest charging points are and check the level of charge in the battery.
Among the innovative hybrid-only features is Predictive E-Mode, which works alongside the car’s navigation system. When activated, it will automatically the most appropriate power source for different stages of your journey – electric motor or petrol engine – saving battery power for the places where it is needed most.

Personalisation
Despite the eye-catching style of the standard Bentayga S, you can choose from a vast array of options, including styling choices, additional features and technology packages.
There are seven standard exterior colours to choose from, however the extended range – which includes new Gravity Grey and Opalite, plus several new satin options – and the Mulliner range bring your choice to more than 60 different paints in total.
Inside, you can choose from a wide range of colours for the leather upholstery, including Gravity Grey. You can add stitching, piping and embroidery – and for the first time, you can commission contrast stitching and hand cross-stitching in the same interior. When it comes to the veneered surfaces on display throughout the cabin, you can choose from a range including open-pore woods, high-gloss woods and technical finishes such as Dark Tint Diamond Brushed Aluminium. There is also a choice of beautiful painted options, including Piano Linen by Mulliner and three new colours: Cricket Ball, Imperial Blue and Burnt Oak.
The optional Front Seat Comfort Specification adds winged headrests, ventilation, massage functions and additional adjustments for the seat cushions and backrests. It also features two truly groundbreaking features: Seat Auto Climate and Postural Adjust. Seat Auto Climate uses sensors in the seat, combined with the heating and ventilation features, to keep you comfortable constantly. Postural Adjust uses air pockets beneath the surface of the seats to vary the pressure on your muscles and help stop fatigue setting in.
For passengers in the rear, you can add the Bentley Rear Entertainment system, which includes two 10.1” touchscreens mounted on the backs of the front seats, which let passengers watch content from their mobile devices. Audio can be played through the earphones provided or the passengers’ own headphones – or alternatively, through the car’s speaker. For audio, you can choose from the Bentley system, which is installed as standard, the Bang & Olufsen for Bentley system, which features illuminated speaker grilles, or the Naim for Bentley system, which offers unrivalled sound quality.
There are also a number of driver assistance packages to choose from. The optional Touring Specification includes features such as a Head-Up Display and Night Vision, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Guidance, which makes long highway drives safer and less arduous, and Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control, which can account for changing speed limits when you are on major roads other than highways. The All-Terrain Specification adds four more driving modes to the four already on offer, to cover driving on low-traction surfaces. It also includes additional underfloor protection – vital when driving on uneven ground.
